About Plantaecure

In 2019 I set out to develop a tick repellent and 7 years later realized I had invented a leading-edge emulgel spray insect repellent line that provides optimal protection for people, pets and horses, against ticks, mosquitoes and various other bugs. 

 

The company was founded as a result of a consequential tick-bite and has the mission of innovating the future of holistic medicine. 

 

The products are manufactured in a residential setting in my hometown of Bristol, Vermont, in small batches with attention to detail. I source only the highest quality ingredients available and BPA-free PET plastic bottles which offer glass-like containment. 

 

I’ve vetted just about all of the EPA-allowed ingredients for 25b products before discovering my groundbreaking sprayable-gel solution. Xanthan-gellan based emulgels (emulsion gels) are used in top tier dermatological delivery systems that can last for days on the skin. 

 

In addition to their film-forming properties, which is ideal for an insect repellent, emulgels are also known for their luxurious skin-feel, combining the nourishing creamy properties of an emulsion with the glide of a gel. 

 

With repellent science, the manufacturer has to balance various factors to optimize safety and efficacy. These include skin-feel, skin-safety, efficacy, stickiness, oiliness, scent and sprayability. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get this right, and while customer feedback has been positive I will continue to adapt my formulas to customers’ needs.
